At the beginning of the year the Scandinavian company Cramo was taken over by the Dutch company Boels Rental. From 1 October Cramo will continue to operate in Austria under the name Boels. Following the takeover, Boels is now the largest rental company in Austria. Behind the scenes we have been working eagerly on the integration; the first external sign is that the depots are turning orange one by one.
24 orange-colored depots
In the Scandinavian and Baltic countries the name Cramo will remain. In Austria, Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic, the name Boels will soon appear everywhere. We are proud to have 24 Boels depots and around 110 service points for DIY all over Austria, so that every customer will find a depot near him. This makes Boels the biggest machine rental company in Austria.
Large rental fleet
Practically the integration means, among other things, that the inventory has been merged into a rental fleet of around 650,000 pieces. Cramo's emphasis was mainly on large equipment, a perfect complement to Boels' range of mainly small and medium-sized machines. Roland Meurs, Country Manager Austria, explains: "The acquisition of Cramo enables us to serve our customers even better. We have more material, more depots and more employees. The wide product range enables us to offer customers a more efficient and faster 'one stop shop', they can find everything they need from the same supplier".
"We will, of course, continue to invest in our fleet," Meurs continues. "We are proud to have the youngest equipment in the industry and we want to keep it that way. We also see the importance of innovations such as digitization and the development of green - zero emission - machines. We look to the future with confidence! Renting is by all means a 'green' solution and that fits in perfectly with today's sharing economy".
